He asked me what the word meant, and my first thought was "dead wringer", explaining that it's "right on", or to look or act like someone. I asked him what the book was about, he said in the first 3 chapters, the boy celebrates his 9th birthday by receiving "the treatment" by the school bullies. Websters tells us that WRINGER is either a machine for pressing out liquid, or something that causes pain, hardship or exertion... hmmmm, like maybe a school bully?<BR/>KathyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
